Adalaide M."Ada "(Bowker) Paiva, 96, of Brockton, formerly of Whitman, passed away on Thursday June 2nd in the St. Joseph Manor in Brockton, after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Joseph Paiva.

She was born and raised in Bridgewater, daughter of the late Clarence and Mary (Turner) Bowker. Ada was a graduate of Bridgewater Normal School and attended Brockton Business School.

Ada was a bank teller for Worcester Savings Bank in Brockton and retired in 1980, after 20 years.

She was a member of Ireland's Own Choir of Brockton for several years and also enjoyed, line dancing, was a passionate reader and mostly she loved being with her family.

She is survived by her daughter Jacqueline Hennebury of Hanson, her brother Robert Bowker and his wife Mildred of Brockton, her grandchildren Karen Paiva, Mark Paiva, Maureen Lee, Kathleen M. E. Hennebury and Nancy Smith; also 9 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Joseph Paiva, and sister of the late Clarence Bowker, Marion Vickery, Kathleen MacDonald and Francis Bell.

Her services will be held on Monday June 6th at 11:00AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 12:00PM in the St. Joseph the Worker Church, Maquan St., Hanson, MA .Burial will be in the MT. Prospect Cemetery, Bridgewater. Visitation will be on Sunday June 5th from 1:00-4:00PM.
