Obituary


Albert A. Pike, Jr., 87, of East Bridgewater, formerly of Abington, passed away on October 7th at the Life Care of West Bridgewater after a period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of 25 years to Edith (Rose) Pike, of East Bridgewater.

Al was born and brought up in Abington, son of the late Albert A. and Eva (Ellmes) Pike and attended Abington Schools.

He worked in the Shoe Manufacturing Industry as a machine mechanic, for many years.

Al enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles, working on cars and was an avid Red Sox fan. He especially enjoyed being with his family.

He is survived by his children Deborah Giachinta of NY, William Pike of Abington and Stephen Pike of Kingston. In addition to his wife Edith, his devoted step-children and caregivers Laura Melville and Pamela Fruzzetti of East Bridgewater and the late Deborah Combra, his step son-in-law Manny Combra of Bridgewater, his sister Barbara Tillson of Abington; also many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Mildred, Nellie, Louis, Lawrence, Alfred Pike and Robert Ellmes.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Friday October 13th from 4:00-6:00PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St. (Rte. 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman. Burial will be at a later date.
