Anthony C. "Tony" Affannato Jr., 67, of Whitman, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 29th, 2025, surrounded by the unwavering love of his family.
Born November 27th, 1958, in Cambridge, Tony was a man who epitomized devotion and joy. He lived a life rich with laughter, strong principles, and an enduring commitment to his loved ones.
For 39 cherished years, he was the dedicated and beloved husband of Janet (McDonough) Affannato. Together, they built a life centered on family, raising three children whom he adored: Nicole (Zachary) Millett of Spencer, Michael (Briahna) Affannato of Whitman, and Olivia Affannato of Bridgewater.
Tony's greatest joy was found in his role as "Grandpa". He was the proud and doting grandfather of Luca William, whom he cherished every moment with. Most recently, he celebrated a precious gift with the arrival of his newest grandson, Dalton Anthony. His grandkids brought immeasurable light, comfort, and laughter into his life.
Tony was respected for his hardworking nature, his wonderful sense of humor, and the quiet, impactful ways he made life brighter for everyone around him. He enjoyed spending time with his family and dog, going to rock concerts, and being able to just live in the moment. He leaves behind a legacy of love, perseverance, and devotion that will forever inspire those who knew him.
In addition to his immediate family, Tony is survived by his sister, Diane Farrin of Maine, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his dear parents, Anthony C. Affannato Sr. and Barbara (Turner) Affannato, and his brother, Ralph Affannato.
Services & Memorial Contributions
Calling hours will be held at Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St (Rte. 58), Whitman, Massachusetts, on Sunday, December 7th, 2025, from 4-7 PM. The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 8th at 10:30am at the funeral chapel followed by burial at Colebrook Cemetery in Whitman, Massachusetts.
