Obituary

Whitman – Arthur Hines 83, died Friday February 13 after a period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of Catherine (Vasel) Hines.

Born in Boston he was the son of the late James A. and Catherine (Campbell) Hines.

Arthur was a proud veteran of the US Air Force having served from 1952-1956.

Prior to his retirement he had worked 34 years for the Proctor & Gamble Company, and during his retirement had enjoyed playing golf.

He had been a longtime resident of Whitman, where he and his wife Catherine raised their five daughters, and was a member of American Legion and the Knights of Columbus.

In addition to his wife Catherine he is survived by his daughters Paula Hines of Pembroke, Delores Hines of Whitman, MaryAnn Candito and her husband Glenn of Halifax, Elaine Williams of Halifax and Diane Gatanti and her husband Steven of Whitman. He was grandfather to 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

By the request of the family all services will be private.
