Obituary

Asunta L. "Sundy" Cassani (Tanzi), 86, of Rockland, passed away on Thursday April 24th, 2025 after a period of failing health.

The beloved wife of the late John Cassani. The daughter of the late Sossio and Maria (Stracqyalisi) Tanzi. Mother of Lisa M. Cassani-Robitaille from Berkley and Janice L. Mulligan from Hanson. Grandmother to Nicole L. Wood, Daniel J. Mulligan and Julia R. Mulligan. Sister of Ralph Tanzi of Rockland, and the late John, Rocco, and Emilio Tanzi. Asunta is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Asunta was born and educated in Rockland, MA. She worked at the Brockton Hospital in the X-Ray department for over 40 years. Asunta enjoyed helping others especially when it came to medical or fashion advice. Her favorite times were spent vacationing in Hawaii with her husband, "Johnny", going to the family's farm in Whitman every Sunday and, shopping for blouses with Marylouise. She enjoyed her grandchildren as they gave her so much love and laughter.

Friends and family are invited to attend Asunta's visiting hours on Monday, April 28th from 4:00-5:45 PM, followed immediately by a short service at 5:45pm at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Burial will be private.
