Barbara J. Young, 78, of Halifax Massachusetts passed away at Beth Isreal Hospital on October 17th after a brief illness. 

Barbara was born in Brockton, Massachusetts on March 7th, 1948, and is the daughter of the late J. Frederick Young and the late Beverly Young. She grew up in Whitman, MA, and enjoyed several hobbies which included car shows, playing bingo, diamond art, and doing jigsaw puzzles.

Barbara spent most of her years as an accountant at Tilcon and then at Clean Harbors. She had a great love for all animals, and she contributed to several fundraisers in support of animals in need.

Barbara is survived by her brother, Dale Young and his wife Cheryl of Hanson and was predeceased by her sister, Brenda Young of Brockton. Barbara is also survived by her sons, Daniel (Skip) Pellegrini and his wife Susan of Randolph, John Young and his wife Michele of Whitman, and Donald Young of Whitman. Barbara is also survived by 7 grandchildren (Brian, David, Kacy, Dennis, Travis, Evan, and Jordyn) and Nieces and Nephew (Heather, Kelley, and Michael), great-niece Kacey, great-nephew Sean, and great granddaughter Riley.

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside memorial on Sunday, November 8th at 11 AM at Avon Cemetery - Memorial Drive (Route 28) Avon, MA followed by a celebration of life to begin at 1 PM at the senior hall located at 33 Redwood Drive, Halifax MA (located in the Halifax mobile home park.)
