Carol Young (Davis), 83, of Abington, MA passed away with her daughters by her side, on September 29th, after a long battle with Primary Progressive Aphasia.
Carol spent the last three years in Kingston, MA, at Wingate at Silver Lake residing in The Residences and then The Inn. Born in Philadelphia, PA and raised in Washington, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Allie Davis. She moved to Abington, MA, in 1972 with her husband Robert W. Young and their two daughters, Betty and Cathy.
Carol worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for many years, first in Brockton and then in Plymouth. Carol loved her crafts and did many over the years including sewing, knitting, crocheting, stained glass and especially jewelry making. Before her diagnosis she was an active member at the United Church of Christ in Abington as a past member of the choir and bell choir.
Carol leaves behind her daughters, Betty Lalli and her husband John of Abington, Cathy Kean and her husband Rich of Plymouth, her granddaughter, Marissa Heckmann and husband Tim of Abington, and grandson John Lalli and his fiancé Rebecca Coburn of Abington. Also survived by her great-grandson Henry Heckmann. She was pre-deceased by her husband Robert Young.
Family and friends are invited to attend Carol's visiting hours on Thursday, October 15th, from 4:00-6:00 PM, with a funeral service to follow at 6:00 PM at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman.
