Obituary

EAST BRIDGEWATER -- Cecilia R. (Bombardier) Akins passed away unexpectedly on February 29, 2020 at Brigham and Women's Hospital at the age of 54.

Cecilia was born on February 25, 1966, beloved daughter of the late Carl and Jeanne Bombardier of Abington. She is survived by her husband Dick Akins of East Bridgewater, her daughter Taylor Wright and her fiancé Steven, her stepchildren Tim, Shauna, and Kelly Akins, her eight brothers and sisters, and many nieces and nephews.

Cecilia graduated from Abington High School in 1984 and Curry College in 1988 where she made many lifelong friendships. She played soccer and basketball and was inducted into the Hall of Fame at both schools for her athletic achievements.

She enjoyed spending time outdoors - perfecting her gardens, fishing on the boat in Falmouth, playing sports, or taking a ride in the Jeep topless; she was happiest when she was outside.

Cecilia found humor and positivity in everything she did. Her love of life and infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all.

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, March 6 from 4:00 - 7:00pm at Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Whitman, MA. At 7:00pm we will have a celebration of Cecilia's life at Blanchard's - all are invited to share thoughts and memories.
