Obituary

Charles A. Smith, 91, of Bridgewater, formerly of West Falmouth, died Saturday April 21st at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.

Mr. Smith, a retired automobile parts manager, was born and raised in Dorchester. He graduated from Dorchester High School for Boys in 1934. Mr. Smith served in the United States Army, Headquarters Detachment, Luzon Prisoner of War Camp, in the Philippines.

His greatest joy was spending time with his family. He enjoyed playing golf with his sons and grandsons, and visiting with his great grandchildren. Mr. Smith also enjoyed bowling, playing pool, and Red Sox baseball. He was an active member of his retirement community and participated in many of the activities enjoyed by his many friends until the time of his death.

Funeral Services will be held Monday April 30th at 9:45 A. M. from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Route 58 at the Rotary Circle) Whitman, MA, followed by a funeral mass in the St. Bridget Church Abington, MA., at 10:30 A.M. .Burial will be in the St Patrick's Cemetery in Rockland.
