Obituary

Clifford "Mel" Baker, 83, died at his home early Sunday morning surrounded by a loving family. He was the husband Marcia (Erickson) Baker of Hanson.

Mel Baker was born and raised in Quincy and served in the Navy during WWII from 1941-1947.

He was employed at the Whitman Post office for 28 years, retiring in 1992

He was an active member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Hanson.

In addition to his wife Marcia he is survived by 5 daughters, Diane Manning of Whitman, Leslie Dennis of Halifax, Cheryl Young of Georgia, Debra Davis and Kristin Baker both of Hanson; 2 step-sons, Richard Rosser and Eric June, both of Texas; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren

His memorial service will be held on Tuesday May 8th at 6:00 P.M. in the Calvary Baptist Church, RT 58 in Hanson, MA. 02341. Refreshments and gathering will follow until 7:30 P.M. A private family burial will be held on a later date. Donation may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society 1115 West Chestnut Street/Suite 301, Brockton, MA. 02301.
