Dawn (Glynn) (Boynton) Chapman, 79, formerly of Pembroke, died Tuesday in Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center, in Brockton, after a period of failing health.
Born in Cambridge, daughter of the late Raleigh and Marion (Troop) Glynn, brought up in Needham, graduate of Needham High, also Mount Ida Jr. College.
She was a life long resident of Pembroke and moved to Whitman 8 years ago.
She worked as a secretary in her family's insurance business for many years. Dawn was well known for her knitting.
Dawn was a longtime member of the First Church of Pembroke.
She is survived by her children, Alison Noyce of Rochester, Candace Boynton of Duxbury and Bradley Boynton of Dorchester, her brother George Glynn of Needham; her grandchildren, Devyn, Madison and Mikias; several nieces and nephews; also her very special friend Robert Hanlon of Whitman. She was also the wife of the late Warren Boynton and Harry Chapman and sister of the late Raleigh Glynn.
Funeral services will be held Thursday March 29th at 8:00 P.M. in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street, (Route 58 at the Rotary Circle) Whitman. Burial will be at a later date. Visiting hours Thursday 5-8 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ethiopia Adoption Program, Wide Horizons for Children, Inc. 38 Edge Hill Rd., Waltham, Ma. 02451, www.whfc.org.
