Dorothy C. (Badger) Place, 84, of Hanson, died Thursday March 10th in the Wingate at Silverlake in Kingston, after a period of failing health. She was the Wife of the late Wesley A. Place.
Dorothy was born in Brockton, daughter of the late Frederick and Edna (Wise) Badger.

She grew up in West Bridgewater and has been a resident of Hanson since 1948. Dorothy attended the Hanson Congregational Church.

In her younger years she enjoyed working as a technician for the Foxboro Company for 10 years.

Her life revolved around the most important thing to her, was her family. She was always there with her words of encouragement and to lend a helping hand to those who needed it.

She brought smiles and comfort to the Vietnam Veterans during her weekly visits to the VA Hospital.

There are many fond memories of summers at "the pond" with all her sisters and kids.

She enjoyed teaching ceramics, traveling and visiting family out of state and Vegas. She was an avid card player, especially, playing whist.

She is survived by her children, Wayne Place of Carver, William Place of Middleboro, Warren Place of Pembroke, Wendy Brodeur of East Wareham, Wanda Brides of Middleboro and Winifred Wyman of Hanson; her sisters, Ruth Reed of Pembroke and Jean Jenness of RI. ;also 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews She was also the mother of the late Wesley Place and grandmother of 3 late grandchildren. She was also the sister of the late Helen Borgeson, Beatrice Turner and Edna DeCouto.

Her services will be held on Sunday March 14th at 7:00PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. Burial will be at a later date. Her visitation will be held prior to her service on Sunday from 4:00-7:00PM.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 3725 Alexandria pike, Cold Springs, KY., 41076.
