Halifax – Edward A. Page, Jr. 89 died Monday August 16 in his Halifax home, after a period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of 68 years to the late Constance (Panos) Page.
Born and raised in Boston he was the son of the late Edward A. and Marion (Wynne) Page, and a graduate of the Norfolk Agricultural School.
He had worked for over 35 years for the City of Boston before retiring to Florida. Prior to that he had been a resident of the South Shore for many years and after returning from Florida had lived in Halifax for the last four years.
Edward enjoyed watching baseball games and was an avid Red Sox fan. Until the age of fifty he had played baseball in an adult baseball league.
He loved to travel both in the United States and in Europe, but his greatest joy came from the time spent with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving children Edward A. Page, III and his wife Kris of Kingston, David J. Page and his wife Ann of Bridgewater, Marian (Page) Quinlan and her husband James of Halifax, George R. Page and his wife Brenda of Alaska, Thomas M. Page of New Hampshire and Joseph J. Page and his wife Aileen of Alaska his grandchildren Jennifer, Rebecca, Amy, Karin, Rachel, Veronica, Alexis, Graham, Connie, Lena, Thomas and Martin his great grandchildren Joshua, Allisandra, Jacob, Nathanael, Elijah, Marian, Matthew, Sophia, Gabriel, Solomon, Michael, Gloria, Liam, Isaiah, Evelyn, Sienna and Grant, also his brother and sister Joseph page of Dedham and Marion Ragagnin of Hingham as well as several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Robert Page.
His services will be held Monday August 30th @ 12:00 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. Interment will follow in the Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 11:00 -12:00.
