Obituary

Edward Francis Richard McCoy, 84 of Hanson, Massachusetts died unexpectedly on February 2nd, at South Shore Hospital.

He is predeceased by his wife of 47 years Norma McCoy.

Born in Roxbury, the only son of John and Anna (Waters) McCoy, he was a proud graduate of Dorchester High (Dunbar Academy) and spent many years working for the United States Postal Service.

He loved his home, pool, bocce court and entertaining his Scat Crew, new and life-long friends.

Eddie was the brother of the late and beloved Ann Marie (McCoy) Rooney and her husband Jack, and the brother-in-law of Mary Lou DelMastro and her late husband Mike.

He leaves behind his daughters Mary Lou Lovett, Tara McCoy, son Bob McCoy and his pride and joy, grandchildren Aidan, Brendan, Megan and Christopher. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and his 4-legged constant companion Bailey.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the Holy Apostles Church, 1 Maquan Street, Hanson. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) in Whitman.
