Eileen M.
Larkin Forte
d. Sep 17, 2026
Eileen Marie Larkin Forte, 60, of Plymouth, Massachusetts passed away on September 17, 2026 at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, submitting to post-surgery complications after a strong fight.
Eileen was born in Weymouth, Massachusetts in 1965, the youngest of five children born to Paul Larkin Sr. and Barbara (Hammond) Larkin. She grew up in Whitman, Massachusetts and graduated from Whitman-Hanson Regional High School, later going on to graduate with an Associate's degree in Computer Science from Stonehill College. She went on to build a career in disaster restoration.
Eileen was happiest spending quality time with friends and family, absolutely beaming when “all of her chickens were in the nest”, as she used to say.
EIleen was a loving mother, grandmother, partner, daughter, sister, and friend to many. She lives on in the memory of her loved ones, survived by her long-time partner, Patrick Barrett of Plymouth, MA. Eileen is also survived by four children of whom she was so proud: Joseph Forte III and his wife Joie Forte of East Providence, RI; Hannah Whitbeck and her husband Andrew Whitbeck of Gale’s Ferry, CT; Jacob Forte of Plymouth, MA and Norah Forte of East Providence, RI. She was a loving “Gogo” to grandchildren Cade Whitbeck of Gale’s Ferry, CT; Logan Sousa- Rutter of Peabody, MA and Isla Whitbeck of Hannah’s belly, coming soon. She was preceded in death by her brother, James “Jay” Larkin of Brockton, MA, but is survived by her sister Karen Zaiatz of West Dennis, MA; Paul Larkin Jr. and his wife Jane Larkin of East Bridgewater, MA; Steven Larkin and his wife Maureen Larkin of East Bridgewater, MA. Eileen also leaves behind her beloved dog Thorfinn, “Mama’s big baby bear”, who brought her so much joy.
In accordance with Eileen’s wishes there will be no immediate public funeral services held, favoring a “Celebration of Life” instead, to be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Plymouth Helping Hands for Animals: a charity near and dear to Eileen’s heart, without whom she would not have had the means to get Thorfinn treatment for a life-threatening illness. Her last months with him were full of joy because they made it possible, and she would want that paid forward. Donations can be made online at www.helpinghandsforpas.org or by mail to the following address: Plymouth Helping Hands for Animals – PO Box 214 – Manomet, MA 02345.
