Eleanor C. (Piers) Geribo of Abington passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, leaving behind a lifetime of love on Sunday, May 24, 2026.

Eleanor, who was known affectionately as Nellie, was the beloved wife of Frank J. Geribo to whom she was happily married for 38 years. She was the devoted mother of Jillian M. Geribo and Kristen E. Geribo, both of Abington, and the proud and adoring Nana of Hailey Kathleen Kelly of Abington.

Nellie was a cherished member of a large family and raised in the close-knit community of South Boston. She was one of five siblings born to the late Ronald and Eleanor (Flaherty) Piers. Beloved sister of the late Kathleen Keaney and her husband Michael of South Boston, Sheila Sherlock and her husband Rick of Whitman, Cheryl Piers of South Boston, Ronny Piers and his wife Michele of Whitman.

Nellie graduated from Cardinal Cushing High School and worked for several years at Harvard University where she met the love of her life, Frankie. Shortly after marriage, she left her job at Harvard to raise her beautiful family who were her absolute pride and joy.

Nellie leaves behind many nieces and nephews and countless friends who adored her and will miss her greatly. She had a way of connecting with people and was always there to lend a helping hand in any way she could. Her love for those in her life was felt so deeply and her quick wit that made a whole room laugh will be missed by all.

Visiting hours to say “ta ta for now” will be held at Blanchards Funeral Chapel, 666 Plymouth Street, Whitman on Sunday, May 31st, from 2:00 - 5:00 pm. All are welcome to Blanchard Funeral Chapel at 9:45 AM on Monday, June 1st before proceeding to St. Bridget’s Church, 455 Plymouth Street, Abington, for a funeral Mass at 10:30 am.
