Obituary

Elizabeth A. "Betty" Beaton of Kingston, formerly of Abington lived a life defined by love and laughter, and an unwavering devotion to her family. She passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026, at the age of 92.

Betty was predeceased by her beloved husband Angus R. Beaton, Sr. and her sons; Robert, Francis and Sean. Betty was also predeceased by her mother, Bridget Teresa Moynihan, her sister Margaret Linehan, and her brother John Moynihan.

Betty leaves behind a large and loving family who will continue to carry her spirit forward. She is survived by her children; Angus & Anne (Hanson), Debora, wife of the late Robert (Abington), Mark & Diane (Carver), Brian & Jil (Colebrook, NH), Susan Trawinski, wife of the late George Trawinski (Kingston), Nancy Judge Lucas, former wife of the late Francis (Bath, ME), Cathleen & Frederick Grover (Kingston), Elizabeth & Robert Zaleski (East Bridgewater) and Christopher & Sharon (Punta Gorda, FL).

Betty lived an amazingly full life. She was a dedicated employee of New England Telephone and Telegraph, Abington National Bank and Continental Cablevision, where she was proudly the recipient of multiple Outstanding Customer Service awards. An adventurous traveler, Betty spent time exploring Ireland, joining frequent cruises with loved ones, to even zip- lining in Belize, Central America.

Her greatest joy, though, was her family. She inspired us, listened to us, and made us laugh out loud. She leaves behind a legacy of curiosity about the world and the courage to face anything together.
