Obituary

Ellen T. (Holmes) Reade, of Whitman, MA, passed away on March 1, 2025, after a brief illness. She was born in Boston on November 28, 1945, to the late George and Marion Holmes.

Ellen was a graduate of St. Patrick's High School, Class of 1963. After dedicating many years to raising her family, she built a long and fulfilling career at Electroswitch in Weymouth, where she worked for 30 years. She cherished time spent with her family and was a generous supporter of various charities.

In 1973, Ellen moved to Whitman, where she remained until her passing. She is survived by her loving sons, Thomas Reade and his wife Michelle, of Easton, MA, and George Reade of Whitman. She also leaves behind her brother, Thomas Holmes, and his wife Susan of Quincy, MA, as well as her cherished granddaughter and great granddaughter.

Ellen was predeceased by her parents and her brothers, George, and Charles Holmes.

Family and friends are invited to attend Ellen's visiting hours on Saturday March 8, 2025 at 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM with a 12:00 PM funeral service to follow at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman.
