Obituary

Whitman – Erna A. (Plitt) Thomas 85 a long time resident of Whitman died Thursday July 2 after a period of failing health. She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur J. Thomas.

Born and raised in Germany she was a Whitman resident for over forty years.

Erna worked for over twenty years in the housekeeping department of the Brockton Hospital and retired as a supervisor for her department.

She enjoyed reading and was an avid walker and a familiar sight walking in the Whitman community.

She is survived by her loving son Karl Thomas of Florida, and her sister Rose O'Neil of Quincy.

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours to be held Monday July 6 from 5-8 PM. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations in her name may be made to Hospice of Brockton & Boston, 500 Belmont Street / Suite 215 Brockton, MA 02301.
