Evelyn O. Peck, 97, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 17, at West Acres Nursing Home in Brockton, MA. following a period of failing health.
Born on August 14, 1913 in Watertown, MA, Evelyn was the daughter of the late Inga and John Osborne and was a graduate of Brockton High School.
She married her husband, Shirley John Peck, who pre-deceased her after 54 years of marriage. They resided in Abington, MA where they raised their family.
Evelyn was the matriarch and cornerstone of a very extended family that consists of six children, 14 grand-children and 13 great- grand-children. A homemaker, the extent of her love, tenderness and compassion was boundless in caring for and supporting her family. She will be missed dearly.
Survivors include her daughter, Sheila Wright and husband, Thorpe, of Woburn, MA; her son, Douglas Peck and his late wife, Gail, of New Durham, NH; her daughter Karen Marshall and Carl Bruno of Whitman, MA; her daughter Mary Ann Wright and husband, Peter, of Reading, MA; son Gerald Peck and wife Mary of Flemington, NJ; and son Thomas, of Abington, MA.
Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, November 23, from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel , Plymouth Street Route 58 (at Rotary), Whitman, MA.
A funeral service celebrating Evelyn's life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, November 24 at 10 a.m.. Interment will follow at St. Patrick's cemetery in Rockland, MA.
