Obituary

Gary S. Harper, 62, of Augusta, ME., formerly of Whitman died on June 17th in the Maine General Medical Center.

He was born in Weymouth, son of Carol A. (Pierce) (Harper) Hayes and the late Paul C. Harper. Gary grew up in Whitman and was a graduate of Whitman-Hanson.

He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1972-1979.

Gary had worked as a ship fitter for General Dynamics and for the past 5 years, he installed overhead garage doors in Maine.

He was a kindhearted and generous man and will be missed by all.

In addition to his mother Carol, he is survived by his daughter Julie Harper of Brockton, his former wife JoAnn Harper, his brother Stephen Harper of East Bridgewater, his sister Cheryl Folsom of Whitman; also many aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was also the brother of the late Paul D. Harper.

His visitation will be held on Monday July 13th from 5:00-7:00PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth St.(Rte. 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman. A graveside service will be on Tuesday July 14th at 12:00PM in the Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman.
