Obituary

Gertrude M (Doyle) Tucker, 91, died July 12th at the Mt Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Walter H. Tucker.

Born in Boston and raised in Weymouth a graduate of Weymouth High, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Gertrude (Dunnigan) Doyle.

She was a resident of Abington for many years, a member of the St. Bridget Church.

Gertrude worked as a cashier for Star Market.

She taught line dancing in Abington, Rockland and Nantasket and she was a volunteer at the Mildred Alford Nursing Home in Abington.

She is survived by her children Steven Whelan and Jacquelyn Whelan, her brother and sister William Doyle and Lois O'Brien; also several nieces and nephews

Her funeral service will be on Monday July 16th at 2:00 P.M., from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street, (Route 58 at the Rotary Circle) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 2:30 P.M. in the St Bridget Church Abington, MA .Burial will follow in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Abington, MA. Visiting hours will be Monday July 16th 12:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M.
