Obituary

Golda B.(Strayhorn) Fontaine, of Halifax, passed away on September 23rd ,after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late LaSalle J. Fontaine.

Golda was born and brought up in North Carolina, daughter of the late Lacy B. and Nora P. (Burns) Strayhorn, and attended North Carolina Schools.

She has been a longtime resident of Halifax.

She is survived by her sons, Joseph "Don" Fontaine and his wife Tina, Lynn Fontaine and his wife Susan, also several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late, Donald Strayhorn, L.B. Strayhorn, Thorton Strayhorn, Bill Strayhorn, Jaqueline Davidson, and Darryl Strayhorn.

Her Funeral services will be held on Tuesday September 29th at 11:00AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St. ( RT 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman. Burial will follow in the Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Visitation will be held one hour prior to her service from 10:00-11:00AM.
