Grace F. (Chenery) Pecoraro 101, died Thursday December 18th after a period of failing health. She was the beloved wife for 68 years to Michael Pecoraro of Halifax.
Born and raised in Boston she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Grace H. (Mayo) Chenery, and a graduate of the High School for Practical Arts in Boston.
Grace was employed as a social worker by the City of Boston, the Town of Braintree and later for the State of Massachusetts, for close to forty years.
She was a resident of Braintree from 1957-1977 and a member and co-worker of the Congregational Church there. After retirement in 1977 she and her husband moved to Halifax where they have resided for over 30 years.
She was also a member, as well as past Matron and Grand Marshall of the Eastern Star of Roslindale.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her children Alys M. Walker and her husband H. Raymond of Whitman, Jeanne Neild of California and Richard Pecoraro of Nevada. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great great-grandson and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Grace M. DeRosa.
Her services will be held Monday December 22nd at 8 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 4 - 8 PM. Donations in her name may be made to the Norwell Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice, Inc. 91 Longwater Circle Norwell, MA 02061.
