Gregory M. Young Sr. of Whitman, MA., passed away at the age of 78 peacefully on March 20, 2026. 

He was born on July 18,1947 in Brockton MA to the late Sylvia F. Young and Stonewall Jackson Young Sr. He was the middle brother to the late Stonewall Young Jr. and Dana Young Sr. 

At a young age Greg moved to Boston where he worked as an auto mechanic. He met his wife of 50 plus years, and started a family. He relocated to Maine later in his life for a number of years. Greg came back to Massachusetts to become a caregiver to his mom in her later years. After her passing, he moved to North Carolina with his daughters, eventually moving back to Massachusetts. 

He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred (McCarty) Young, daughter Cathleen Young and son Gene Young. 

He leaves behind daughter Yvonne Young, (Boston) Gregory Young Jr. (Maine), Brenda Anderson (California) and Isaac Young Sr. (Maine) As well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, cousins and friends. 

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on April 24th from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. A graveside service will immediately follow at St. James Cemetery, Whitman.
