Obituary

West Bridgewater – Helen M. (West) (Oddie) Golder 92, died Wednesday March 30 surrounded by her loving family after a period of failing health. She was the beloved wife of the late Harry Oddie, Jr. and the late Lester J. Golder.

Born and raised in Abington she was the daughter of the late William and Edith (Hall) West and a graduate of Abington High.

Before her retirement she had worked as solderer for Components Manufacturing of W. Bridgewater.

Helen had been a resident of Whitman before her move to West Bridgewater, where she resided for over 43 years and was an active member of the West Bridgewater Senior Citizens for several years.

She is survived by her loving children David L. Oddie and his wife Lydia of Sarasota, FL and Judith A. Higgins of West Bridgewater as well as 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her dear friend Henry Bishop. She was predeceased by one son Peter W. Oddie and 1 grandchild.

Her funeral service will be held Monday April 4 at 12 Noon in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in the Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman. Visiting hours will be held 2 hours prior to the service from 10 AM – 12 PM.
