Obituary

Howard G. “Rusty” Lee of East Bridgewater, Massachusetts, died peacefully at his home on April 11, 2026. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, and will be deeply missed.

Born in Chelsea, MA, on August 3, 1945, to the late Howard and Ruth (Thompson) Lee, Rusty grew up in South Boston alongside his younger sisters, Pam Lebreck and the late Karen Diauto, and his brother, the late Randy Lee, before moving to Randolph, MA, where he graduated from the high school in 1963. He served as a medical specialist in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Gelnhausen, Germany, from 1965-1967, where he met many of his lifelong friends.

He met his wife, Maureen (Medico), at a dance at the Randolph Country Club, they wed at Holy Family Church in Rockland, MA, in 1970, and spent 55 years happily married. In 1984, they moved their family from Rockland to East Bridgewater, where they raised their two children. He retired in 2000 after working for 30 years as a UPS driver, which suited him perfectly, as he loved people and driving.

He was a huge Boston sports fan and loved attending games. Some of his best memories were from NASCAR races he went to with his family. He loved spending time and traveling with his wife, her sisters and their husbands to places both near and far, and reminisced about his many hunting trips in New England with his friends. He spent many summers fishing and lobstering off the coast of Hull and had many stories from those adventures that he said — with a sparkle in his eye — he could not share.

He leaves behind daughter Brenda Kozuch and her sons, Judd and Colton; daughter Amy Crabtree, her husband Len, and their daughters, Mollie and Megan; many nieces and nephews; and a countless number of friends. He will be remembered for making the room brighter by simply being in it, his generosity, as he was always doing things for others, and for his wonderful stories of his amazing life, which he loved.

Family and Friends are invited to attend visiting hours at Blanchard Funeral Chapel, 666 Plymouth Street, Whitman, MA, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, April 17, followed by a service there at 1 p.m., after which, he will be buried at Holy Family Cemetery in Rockland, MA.
