Obituary

Falmouth – Jane L. (Metevier) Scherer 66, died on Tuesday December 25. She was the beloved wife of thirty years to Robert H. "Bob" Scherer.

Born in Brockton and raised in Whitman, She was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Ryan) Metevier, and a graduate of Whitman-Hanson High, Class of 1970.

Jane had worked for over forty years as a customer service representative for the Ocean Spray Cranberry Company.

She enjoyed flower arranging and was an avid Red Sox and baseball fan, following and keeping many baseball statistics. She was truly a "cat lover" and had adored her little kitty cats. She also cherished the time spent with her family and friends.

In addition to her husband Bob, she is survived by her loving sister Susan Verge of Fall River, her nephew and godson Justin Verge of Hamilton, her niece Perla Metevier and her goddaughter Emily Sheridan of Abington. She also leaves behind her second family the Milletts of Whitman. She was the sister of the late Peter M. Metevier.

Her funeral service will be held Thursday January 3 at 10:00AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte.58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow at 12:45PM in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday January 2 from 4:00-7:00PM.
