Obituary

Janet L. (Twomey) Powers, 71, died Tuesday September 18th in the Brockton Hospital, after a period of failing health. She was the beloved wife of George Powers of 53 years.

She was born in Brockton, daughter of the late George and Grace (Reardon) Twomey

Janet was a resident of Brockton for many years.

She enjoyed her crafts and made a quilt for everyone of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Janet was very involved with the research at St. Jude's Hospital.

In addition to her husband George, she is survived by her children, George Powers, III, of Florida, Mark Powers of Brockton, Kevin Powers of Halifax, Cynthia Hartery of Holbrook, Laurie Yelapi of Brockton and Sheila Powers of Raynham; her brothers and sisters, James Twomey, Patricia Tucker both of Whitman, John Twomey of Maine and Sheila Miller of Brockton; also 19 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Private graveside services will be held Tuesday September 25th at 11:30 A.M. in the Massachusetts V.A. National Cemetery in Bourne MA.
