Janet M. (Thomas), Sundberg, 83, of Abington, Massachusetts, wife of the late (predeceased) Jon E. Sundberg, died on October 28th, peacefully at her home surrounded by the love of her family, after a short illness.

Born in Weymouth, Massachusetts in 1943 to the late Joseph and Ruth Thomas where she was raised along with her 4 siblings. David and Billy Thomas, the late Karen Dunn and Judi McCue. She was a certified LPN (licensed Practical nurse) and worked for many local nursing homes as well as home health organizations over the years. She was a long-time Abington Garden Club member alongside her good friend, the late Carole Gridley. Janet enjoyed many years of camping and cruising with her predeceased best friends Marsha and Donald Nelson. Janet loved Elvis Presley, her four-legged son, Salty and cooking. 

She is survived by her daughter, Jana M. Gallo and husband Tony Gallo of Londonderry, NH, Son Erick K. Sundberg and wife Mary of Duxbury, MA, and Son Kirk A. Sundberg and his wife Jacquelyn of Hanover, MA. Janet was the proud Nana to her 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Erich, Kristen, Andrea, Jessie, Mark, Kirk Jr, Emily, Eric, Ella, Rose, Caroline, Liam, Emma, Alexander & Levi. She also left behind many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, November 2nd from 4:00PM-7:00PM at Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Whitman, MA. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, at 10:00 AM also at Blanchard’s. Burial will be at the Mount Vernon Cemetery (Pearl Street entrance) in Abington, MA, immediately following.
