Jerome E. “Jerry” Adams, 88, of East Bridgewater, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026.
Born in Quincy, Massachusetts, Jerry was the beloved son of the late Raymond and Elsie Adams and the stepson of the late Ruth Adams. He was also predeceased by his loving wife of 46 years, Patricia (Ciraolo) Adams; his brother, Tracy Adams; and his sister, Frances Kelley.
Jerry spent much of his life in Hanson, where he lived for 35 years before moving to East Bridgewater 13 years ago. A proud American and dedicated public servant, Jerry served his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps for 30 years, retiring with the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. A Vietnam veteran, he traveled extensively throughout the world during his military career and took great pride in serving his country.
Following his retirement from the Marine Corps, Jerry continued his commitment to public service as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for over 20 years.
Jerry was an avid woodworker who enjoyed creating projects with his hands and sharing them with family and friends. Above all else, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Nothing brought him more happiness than spending time with his grandchildren, whom he loved beyond measure.
Jerry is survived by his children, Elaina Nichols and her husband Todd of Assonet; Joanne Puskar and her husband Philip of East Bridgewater; Jerome Adams Jr. and his wife Jennifer of New Bedford; and Joseph Adams and his wife Kelly of Georgia.
He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Jonah Puskarand his fiancé Jaimee of Somerville, Kevin Puskar of Miami, Florida, Faith Nichols of Assonet, Jerome Adams III and Alyssa Adams of New Bedford, and Tara Adams of Hanson, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Jerry’s life was defined by service, dedication, craftsmanship, and unwavering love for his family. His strength, wisdom, and sense of duty leave a lasting legacy that will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.
As Jerry would always say… Other than that, thats about it!
Family and friends are invited to attend Jerry’s visiting hours on Saturday, June 20th from 9:00 AM- 11:00 AM with a 11:00 AM funeral service to follow at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street ( Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. A burial will take place after at Fern Hill Cemetery, Hanson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jerome’s memory to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Halifax Post 6258, P.O. Box 31, Halifax, MA 02338.
