Abington – John G. Plasse 70, a longtime resident of Abington, died Friday November 2, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of 48 years to Lynda J. (Timpany) Plasse.
Born in Brockton and raised in Whitman he was the son of the late Gordon and Ellena (Corbett) Plasse and had attended Whitman schools.
Before his retirement he had worked for over forty years as a clothes presser and was a proud member for over thirty years of their International Union, and had worked the last eight years for Davis Clothing of Brockton where he created uniforms for the US Military.
He enjoyed reading and gardening and was an avid "outdoorsman".
In addition to his wife Lynda he is survived by his loving children John Plasse, Jr. of Auburn, ME, Mechelle Plasse and her partner Sue Plasse of Bridgewater, and Denise Plasse of Abington, and his sister Diane Langley of Brockton. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late James E. Plasse.
His funeral service will be held Tuesday November 6 at 10 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Cemetery, Abington. Visiting hours will be held Monday November 5 from 4-7 PM.
