Obituary

C. Joseph Boss, loving Dad, Papa, and beloved husband, age 74 of Whitman, MA, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

Joe was born in Brockton, MA on December 1, 1948 to the late Leon and Florence Boss. Joe graduated from Brockton High School in 1966 and went on to further his education with a degree in Marine and Electrical Engineering from Mass Maritime Academy. For close to 50 years, he worked as a sales engineer of generators, where he was considered a legend, retiring from Cummins Northeast.

In his younger years he was an avid golfer. Joe enjoyed all sports, especially his beloved Patriots. Joe took great pride in watching his children and grandchildren in their activities, he was their biggest fan. He always found pleasure in caring for his yard and home. Aruba was his home away from home.

Joe leaves behind his loving wife, of 53 years, Kathleen Walker Boss. He leaves his three children; KathyJo Boss and her husband Geoff Diehl, Joseph Boss and his wife Dinnean Boss, and Jody Kahoalii and her husband Travis Kahoalii, all residing in Whitman. He leaves behind his 10 loving grandchildren: Kaylee and Emily Diehl; Victoria, Joseph, Zachary, and Allie Boss; TJ, Cody, Malia, and Boston Kahoalii. Joe is also survived by his sister, Karen (Boss) Goodwin and her husband Dana of Plymouth and brother Jon Boss of Florida, and the late Linda Boss and Robert (Buzzy) Boss. He leaves behind many, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend his visiting hours on Sunday October 1 from 2-5 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) and his services on Monday October 2 at 9:45 AM from the Chapel, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in the Holy Ghost Church.
