Obituary

Jul (Kievenaar) Homer, 75 of Rockland and East Bridgewater died on Tuesday May 26th, after a brief illness.

Born in West Roxbury in 1940 and the oldest daughter of the late H.A. and Agnes (Kern) Kievenaar.

She graduated from Fitchburg State in 1961. Jul worked at the VA Hospital in Boston and was a teacher of Nursing at Quincy City Hospital. She would spend 25 years as a school nurse for Whitman Public Schools. In her spare time, she served on the Rockland Board of Registers and the East Bridgewater Council of Aging.

She was the wife of the late Arthur L. Homer for 50 years and the sister to Major General (Ret) H.A. Kievenaar of VA., Brenda Curley of Boston and the late Peter Kievennar of Randolph. She also leaves behind two sons, Charles H. Homer of East Bridgewater, Arthur L. Homer, Jr. of Haverhill and her daughter Jul Marie (Homer) Pratt of Randolph.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services on Monday June 1st at 10:00AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St. (Rt 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman. Burial will follow in the St. James Cemetery, Whitman. Visitation will be held on Sunday May 31st from 2:00-5:00PM.
