Obituary

Julie M. Foley, 84, of Rockland Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at home on July 12th surrounded by her loving family after battling cancer.

Born in Chelsea, Massachusetts in 1941 she was the daughter of Julia (Cunningham) Bartolo and Michael Bartolo, sister of the late Mary Janice Bartolo, SND.

She graduated from Fitton Central High School in 1958 and went on to have a career at John Hancock for 25 years as an Administrative Assistant.

Julie loved to travel with her family to places such as Italy, the Caribbean, Point Sebago, Hawaii, Alaska, Ireland, and several family trips to Disney. Julie could frequently be seen gardening, crocheting, baking, walking around Scituate and Plymouth and attending all of her grandchildren's various activities and school events.

Julie is survived by four children, Michelle (Foley) Langhoff of Rockland, Julieanne (Foley) Shiels and her husband Paul Shiels of Middleborough, Colleen (Foley) Lang and her husband John Lang of Whitman, Kevin Foley and his wife Jenney Foley of Rockland. She is survived by nine grandchildren, Kyle and Ryan Cousins of Rockland, Cody and his wife Jenna (O’Connor) Shiels of Rockland, Julia Shiels of NorthHampton, Rebecca and Megan Lang of Whitman, Michael, Victoria, and Joseph (Joey) Foley of Rockland; and two great grandchildren, Jameson and Connor Shiels of Rockland. Julie is also survived by many cousins that she enjoyed spending time with.

Family and friends are invited to attend Julie's visiting hours on Thursday, July 16th from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street, (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. All are welcome at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel on Friday, July 17th at 8:00 AM before proceeding to a funeral Mass held at the Holy Family Church, Rockland at 9:00 AM. A burial will immediately follow at Colebrook Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Julie’s name to Caring Hospice Services of Massachusetts 11 Vanderbilt Avenue, Suite 250, Norwood, Ma. 02062.
