Obituary

Karin A. (Barkley) Johnson of Hanson MA, sadly passed away Sunday, July 14, 2024 at the age of 77.

She was the daughter of the late Merle C. Barkley and Murial D. (Meader) Barkley of Hanson.

Karin worked 40 years for Head Start Self Help as a family advocate. Karin graduated from Whitman-Hanson Regional High school. She earned an Associate's degree in Social Services from Salem State college.

She enjoyed spending time with her sisters traveling, cooking, and spending time with family.

Karin is survived by her brothers. Gene Barkley of Washington State, Charles Duquette of Norton, Alfred Duquette of Bridgewater, her sisters. Clair Austin, Diane Ross both of Crossville Tenn. Effie Duquette of Brockton. She survived her late brothers Stephen Barkley and Merle C Barkley Jr. Her children sons Carl Johnson of Brockton, Arthur Johnson his wife Nicole of East Bridgewater, Jeramiah Johnson his partner Jamie Ambach of Bridgewater, Merle Johnson of Brockton, her daughters, Kinella Andrews her Husband Robert of Hanson, Candace Murphy of Holbrook. Karin had 17 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, also many nieces and nephews. Karin will be sadly missed.

Services will be private with an announcement for a celebration of life to follow.
