Obituary

Lake Placid, FL- Laura E. (Smith) Helbig 77 died Tuesday November 4th in her Florida home.

Born August 1, 1931 in Spencer, MA she was the daughter of the late Harvey A. and Marie (Beale) Smith.

She served her country in the United States Navy.

Laura was a resident of Whitman and surrounding communities before her move to Lake Placid, Florida 14 years ago after retiring as an assembler in the electronics industry.

She is survived by her loving son Walter Helbig and his wife Lily of Santa Monica, CA, her sister Gladys Gebhardt and her dear friend Louise Smith. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will be held Tuesday November 11th at 11 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in the Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman. Visiting hours will be held one hour prior to the service from 10-11 AM.
