Margaret "Peggy" P. (Laverty) Parker-Force, 95, of Abington, Massachusetts passed away peacefully in her home of 70 years surrounded by family on January 25th.
Born in Roslindale, Massachusetts in 1924 to Robert Laverty and Mary (Ryan) Laverty of Ireland, Peg received her high school diploma from Quincy High School in 1939. It was at this time that Peg met the first love of her life, William Parker. Shortly after, they married and remained together for 53 years until his passing.
While raising her two sons, Peg began a career at the Brockton Enterprise as a Circulation Office Coordinator where she remained until her retirement in 1989. She then enjoyed a career as a bank teller at Abington Bank for many years until her "second retirement" in 2003.
While many people are not fortunate enough to find even one soul mate, Peg married her second soul mate, retired Boston Fire Captain John "Jack" Force, on October 16th, 2005 at the age of 81. She spent her golden years "flying south" for the winters to Englewood, Florida with Jack. A passionate casino lover, on Wednesday's you could often find Peggy with Jack hitting the slot machines and winning big.
Peg leaves behind her husband of 14 years, Jack Force of Abington. She leaves behind her son, Richard Parker of Hanson. Peg was predeceased by her youngest son, Ronald Parker and will be greatly missed by his wife, Cindy (Ballum) Parker of Dartmouth, also missed by her stepsons, John Force and his wife Tricia Force of Abington, as well as Kevin Force and his wife Paula Force of Abington. She will be greatly missed by her three grandchildren, Ryan Parker and wife Sarah (Betts) Parker of Dartmouth, Renee (Parker) Mahoney-Wolfe and her husband Jeffrey Wolfe of Rockland, and Michael Parker of Hanson. She has been reunited in heaven with her grandson Todd Parker and is missed by his wife Hillary Parker of North Providence, Rhode Island. In addition to her grandchildren, Peg's loving step grandchildren will miss her – Chris Force of Abington, and Andrew Force of Abington. She will be greeted in heaven by her step grandson, the late Ryan Force. She also leaves behind seven great grandchildren – Meg, Ben, Levi, Dylan, Logan, Avery and Harriet.
Her funeral services will be held on Friday February 1st at 8:15AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St (Rte 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 9:00AM in the St. Bridget Church, Abington, MA. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00-8:00PM Friends and family are welcome to attend.
