Obituary

With deep love and sorrow, I share the passing of my husband, Mario V. Grasselli Sr., who passed away peacefully at home on January 14, 2026, at the age of 60. Mario was a devoted husband, father, stepfather, brother, and grandfather, and the center of our family for more than 35 years.

Mario was born in 1965 in Quincy, Massachusetts, to the late John and Edith Grasselli. He graduated from Quincy Vocational High School and dedicated 20 years of his life to working for the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA). Mario especially loved being stationed at Nut Island in Quincy, where he found peace in the serenity and enjoyed the beautiful views of the Boston skyline.

Mario and I met in 1989 and were married in 1993. Together we built a life rooted in love, loyalty, and family. He was my partner, my constant, and my greatest support.

He is survived by his brothers Anthony Grasselli and his children Megan Grasselli and John Grasselli, and John Grasselli and his wife Marie Grasselli; his son Mario Grasselli Jr.; my daughter, Jessica Byron, her husband John Byron, and our granddaughter Miyoko Yancey; and my son, Joseph Viola III.

Mario found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved visiting the White Mountains of New Hampshire, riding his beloved Harley-Davidson motorcycle, and especially riding the Kancamagus Highway. He cherished fishing trips with his brothers, time spent with his loyal German Shepherd, Kai, and every moment with his family. His calm presence, generous heart, and quiet strength will be deeply missed.

At Mario’s request, no services will be held.
