Obituary

Marjorie R. (Connell) Wheaton, age 82, of Rockland, formerly of Whitman, passed away on August 29th, after a long illness. Margie was born and raised in Worcester and was the daughter of the late George and Ruth (Hills) Connell and beloved wife of the late Robert F. Wheaton, Sr.

She was a nurse for over 40 years and received her nursing degree at Long Island Hospital in Quincy. Her real passion in life was her family. Margie also enjoyed knitting, the Patriots and was an animal lover. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends

She was the devoted mother of Robert Wheaton and his wife Katherine of Franklin,TN, the late William Wheaton, Barbara Williams and her husband Richard of Rockland, Linda Shanahan and her husband Gerald of Rockland and Richard Wheaton and his wife Wendy of Marshfield. She was the loving Nana of Derek Shanahan and his wife Martha of Halifax, Colleen Hanson and her husband Brent of Weymouth, Michael Shanahan and his girlfriend Alyssa Zimini of Weymouth, Carly, Ryan and Brooke Wheaton of Marshfield ; also the loving great Nana of her namesake Hazel Marjorie Shanahan.

Relatives and friends are welcome to attend her visitation on Wednesday September 2nd from 4:00-7:00PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St.( Rt 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman. Funeral Services will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the MSPCA, 350 S. Huntington Ave., Jamaica Plain, MA. 02130
