Obituary

Abington - Marjorie E. Whiting, age 94. Wife of the late Oren T. (Tom) Whiting, passed away peacefully at the Wingate Nursing Home in Kingston on February 23rd. She resided for many years in Abington and later in Halifax, MA. She was predeceased by her parents Daniel O'Connell and Evelyn O'Connell and her brother Edward O'Connell. She is survived by her children, Paul T. Whiting of Hull, MA and Gilford, NH, Peter E. Cobb of Ocala, FL, and Diane Wilson of Kingston, MA and Naples, FL, as well as 10 loving grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was a dear friend of the late Joseph Carlozzi of Halifax.

She worked for a number of years in the office of Littlefield-Wyman nursery in Abington, and had worked during World War II at a local munitions plant. She had a great love of flowers and the outdoors and also enjoyed baking, gardening, and spending time with her loving family. She was a great writer of short poems.

A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at a later date in the spring to be announced. The family requests any donations in her memory be made to the Salvation Army, 281 N.Main St., Box 4047, Brockton, MA 02303.

The family also requests, because of Marge's great love of flowers, that you share a bouquet with a loved one, or plant a flower this spring in her memory.
