Marjorie E. Rumpf, 78, of Abington passed away on Friday, August 7, 2026.

Marjorie was born on January 5, 1948 in Boston. The daughter to the late George and Marion (Byrnes) Murphy. Marjorie was a graduate of Cardinal Cushing High School. She went on to work over 25 years in the cafeteria in the Abington school district.

Marjorie leaves behind her husband Louis Rumpf, which she shared 59 years of marriage with. She also leaves behind her two daughters; Michelle Hogan and her husband Jerry of Pembroke, and Kristin Ruhr and her husband Jeff of Rockland. She is survived by her sister Marion P. Murphy of Wareham. Marjorie was the beloved grandmother to Stephen Hogan, Kaitlin Vieira, Brianna Mendenhall, Jackson Ruhr, Benjamin Ruhr. The great-grandmother to Amanda Vieira, Romen Vieira, Graziela Vieira, and Miley Mendenhall. Marjorie is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She is proceeded in death by her siblings; Robert Connolly, Patrica Osis, and Barbara Garvey.

Family and friends are invited to attend Marjorie’s visiting hours on Saturday, August 15th from 12:00-3:00 PM with a 3:00 PM funeral service to follow at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman.
