Mary Ellen Mulligan (nee MacIsaac), 83, of Hanson MA entered into eternal rest on January 27th after a short illness.

Born and raised in Norwood, MA, she was the first child of the late James J. and late Ellen (Leonard) MacIsaac. A graduate of Norwood High School, she went on to work at Norwood Hospital where she met her future husband, the late John F. Mulligan of Milton, MA. She was a longtime resident of Rockland MA., and worked for the Massachusetts Department of Motor Vehicles for over twenty years. After retirement, she moved to Hanson and was an active volunteer at the Hanson Senior Center. She was a member of a local Red Hats club and a widow's group that met on a regular basis. She was also actively involved with St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Hanson. She enjoyed volunteering her time and visiting her many friends and family members.

She is survived by her sons, John F. Mulligan Jr of Halifax, MA, James M. Mulligan (Janice) of Hanson, MA, her grandchildren Daniel J. Mulligan of Rockland MA., and Julia R. Mulligan of Hanson MA., her sister Kathy (Joseph) Connors of Venice, FL and brother James (Ann Marie) MacIsaac of Buffalo, NY.

She was preceded in death by her late sister Carol (Michael) Seery of Norwood, MA. She also loved, and leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to attend Mary Ellen’s visiting hours on Wednesday, February 4th from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. On Thursday February 5th at 10:15 all are welcome at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel to join in procession before the Funeral Mass. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM at the Holy Apostles Parish, 1 Maquan Street, Hanson, MA 02341. A burial will immediately follow at the Milton Cemetery, 211 Centre Street, Milton, MA 02186.
