Obituary

Rockland – Matthew J. Burns 47, died Thursday July 24 at his home.

Born August 4, 1966 in Boston, he was the son of Patricia (Shields) Burns of Rockland and the late Robert E. Burns.

He grew up in Hanson, living there until his move to Rockland in 2004.

He leaves behind his two sons Shane M. Burns and Dylan J. Burns both of Hanson. He also leaves his former wife Kim Rogers, his mother Patricia Burns, his sister Ellen Forest and a nephew and niece.

His memorial service will be held Saturday August 2 at 2:30 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 12:30-2:30 PM. Burial will be at a later date in the Holy Family Cemetery, Rockland.
