Obituary

Nellie Adams, age 93, of Whitman, Mass., passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Boston Medical Center.

She was born on January 20, 1932, in Weymouth, Massachusetts, the youngest—and the last surviving—of twelve brothers and sisters. She was a daughter of Aneilo and Concetta Russo, who emigrated from Italy and made their home in Weymouth.

Nellie spent her early life in Weymouth and spent her entire adult life in Whitman. She married Wright Adams of Quincy, and together they raised two children, Gail and Chuck.

Nellie worked as a proofreader at New England Art in Abington, where she was known for her careful eye and dedication. In her leisure time, she loved watching baseball, travelling, and cooking for family and friends. She had a warm and welcoming spirit—friendly to everyone she met—and she cherished spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Chuck Adams and his wife, Deborah Adams; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her great joy.

She will be deeply missed, yet her family takes comfort in the many happy memories she created, her laughter, her generosity, and the love she shared.

Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, November 5th from 5-7pm in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, located in Whitman RTE 58 (at the rotary cicle). A private burial will take place at a later date.
