Obituary


Norman H. Pigeon, 68, of Middleboro, formerly of Rockland, died Monday July 5th surround by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband for 40 years to Thomasina (Mowbray) Pigeon.

Norman was born in Lowell, son of the late Henry J. and Annette (Labreque) Pigeon, He was raised and educated in Weymouth, then moved to Rockland in 1973 where he lived with his family until retiring to Oak Point in Middleboro in 2007.

Mr. Pigeon served in the United States Navy form 1958-1962.He spent 3 years on board the USS Manley (DD-940) making three European tours. The Ship was berthed in Charlestown, SC. He was honorably discharged in 1962.

Following his discharge, Norman joined Plumbers Local Union # 12.After his apprentice's graduation, several years later, he received his master plumber's license and was a general foreman and vice president for Bay State York Company for several years. Norman then worked as vice president for JET Mechanical for many years until his retirement.

He enjoyed sports, gardening, working on home projects and spending time with his beloved children and grandchildren.

In addition to his loving wife of 40 years Thomasina, he is survived by his two daughters, Carolyn Davidson and her husband Michael of Middleboro, Denise Connors and her husband Richard of Halifax, devoted grandfather to Rachel and Michael Connors and Liana and Alex Davidson; also his sister Doris Salemy of Needham, his brothers, Lawrence Pigeon of VA., Walter Pigeon of Rockland and many nieces and nephews.

His services will be held on Friday July 9th at 10:00AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. Interment will be at a later date in the MA V. A. National Cemetery in Bourne, MA. Visitation will be held on Thursday July 8th from 4:00-8:00PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to the Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place West Floor 6, Brookline, MA 02445
