Obituary

Patricia (Pat) Davidson, 81, of Whitman, passed away on June 22 nd in her home surrounded by her loving and devoted family after living with Parkinsons for over 17 years.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts on Fathers’ Day, June 17 th , 1945 to the late Andrew and Agnes (Lasofsky) Yanoolis. Pat was a graduate of South Boston High class of 1963 and went on to work 33 years for South Boston Savings Bank where she retired as an Assistant Branch Bank Manager.

Pat was a humble and kind woman who lived a life of servitude guided by her faith in God. She was an active member of the Holy Ghost Parish in Whitman where she served as a lector, was a past Prefect of the Blessed Mother Mary Sodality as well as a proud member of the St. Vincent DePaul-Whitman Food Pantry where she volunteered as a Neighbor Advocate for over 30 years.

To have known Pat was to know her love of family. The numerous holiday dinners she would prepare to share with her extended family, the family memorial mass and celebration she would organize each fall to the days of being a Brownie leader, coach, cheerleader or “mom’s taxi”. One of her biggest loves was being the proud and loving “Grammie” to her grandsons Anthony and Michael. The memories she made with them throughout the years are ones they will cherish for a lifetime. One of the favorite places she would like to take the boys on a hot summer day was to her little home away from home, Castle Island in South Boston. If you look closely, you will see her under the shade tree on the hill overlooking the playground reading her Danielle Steel book. The memory of Pat will forever live in the hearts of all those who knew her.

Pat leaves behind the love of her life for 57 years, James (Jim) Davidson of Whitman, her children Linda Davidson of Bridgewater, Kenneth Davidson of Whitman and grandsons Anthony and Michael Davidson of West Bridgewater. She is predeceased by brothers John Yanoolis of Weymouth, Charles Yanoolis of North Carolina and sisters Maryann Maio of Abington, Joanne McCarthy of South Carolina. Pat is survived by her sister Agnes (Debbie) Hutchings and her husband John of Wells, Maine as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to her visitation which will be at Blanchard’s funeral home in Whitman on Monday, June 29 th from 4-7 pm. Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, June 30 th at 10:30 am at holy Ghost Parish in Whitman followed by her burial at St. James Cemetery on Harvard Street in Whitman.
