Obituary

Patrick Liam Cadogan, 36, peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, December 24th, 2025, surrounded by family and loved ones at Spaulding Hospital in Cambridge. Patrick’s earthly race is complete, and he now rejoices in the fullness of God’s promises.

He survived by his parents, Kathleen (Coggins Cadogan) and John Callahan. He has been reunited in heaven with his father, the late Mark Cadogan, and his brother, the late Ryan Cadogan. Patrick is also survived by his grandmother, Marillyn Cadogan; his grandfather, James Coggins; and many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.

Patrick was born in Boston and was raised on the South Shore. In his early years, Patrick grew up in Hull, enjoying summers at Nantasket Beach with his cousins, the Judge Family. At his grandparent’s home in East Falmouth, he made lasting memories with his extended Cadogan family. Patrick was granted a gift from the Make A Wish Foundation, enjoying and sharing 84 Red Sox games at Fenway. He graduated from Marshfield High School in 2009 where he proudly served as an assistant manager of the football team.

A life-long learner, Patrick had a deep love for reading on various topics and took college courses at Massasoit Community College and Liberty University. He went on to have varied interests, including deep study of Scripture and foundations of Christian living. Patrick was a patriot who loved his country and held a deep respect for the Constitution, believing firmly in righteousness, justice, and truth.

Patrick came to know his Savior, Jesus Christ, at age 10, as a teenager his faith deepened, and he grew into a devoted follower of Christ whose life bore a quiet but powerful witness. His life was centered on pleasing the Lord, in his body and in his character. A student of scripture, Patrick offered wisdom, hope, and encouragement, pointing others gently but consistently to Christ.

Patrick was diagnosed at a young age with Neurofibromatosis, Type 2 (NF2). While the disease marked his life with many challenges, it also refined his faith and his strength and deepened his dependence on the Lord. Despite the disease robbing his physical wholeness, Patrick remained fully himself throughout and those that knew him well saw his personality shine through- sometimes in nothing more than a loving gaze.

Through many hospitalizations and extended stays at Massachusetts General Hospital and Spaulding Hospital. Patrick’s faith was evident to all and was an encouragement to his loved ones and the medical staff that helped care for him. He was a man of integrity, loyalty, and quiet inner strength. As Patrick’s disease progressed, he endured increasing physical limitations without complaint. He continued to praise, trust and rest in the Lord and His promises. His humility and perseverance were a powerful testimony. His relationship with Christ overflowed to others, and despite his limitations, Patrick continued to minister to many, serving as a good listener and sharing godly wisdom and insight. Patrick’s life was hidden in Christ, and his quiet perseverance, unwavering faith, and hope in eternal life have left a lasting testimony to all who knew him.
