Obituary

Paul D. Thurberg, 83, of Whitman, Massachusetts died on July 7 after a short illness.

Born in Weymouth, Massachusetts in 1933, he was the son of the late John and Francis Thurberg.

He worked at Sigma Instrument and retired from Sears after working for over 20 years as a technician.

He loved to cook, watch the Patriots, and spend time with his wife, four children and five grandchildren.

He was the loving and loyal husband of Geraldine (Marchillo) Thurberg for 63 years and the brother of Henry Thurberg (deceased) and Lorraine Lewis of Bridgewater. He leaves behind four children, Deb O'Kane and husband Eddie of Kingston, Tom Thurberg and wife Elaine of Abington, Paula Thurberg of Whitman, and Karen Andersen of Marshfield, grandchildren Meredith, Mark, Paul, John, and Hanna, and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his services to be held Wednesday July 12 at 8:15 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, followed a funeral Mass at 9:00 AM in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Burial will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Weymouth. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday July 11 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
