Obituary

Richard W. Rosebach, 83, of East Bridgewater, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at his home on March 22, surrounded by love. Born on July 7, 1942, in Dorchester, Massachusetts, Richard was the son of George and Esther Rosebach. He grew up on Sydney Street in Dorchester and graduated from Boston Tech in 1960. On October 1, 1967, he married the love of his life, Carol A. Thomas.

In 1973, Richard and Carol moved to East Bridgewater along with his parents, beginning a new chapter centered on family, community, and togetherness. Richard worked for many years at the Pollack Company in Dorchester before briefly owning Kath Ann’s Donut Shop in Rockland. He later found his long-term professional home at Whitman Tool & Die, where he worked as a dedicated machinist for 42 years. Richard and Carol shared a marriage filled with warmth, laughter, and unwavering devotion until her passing in 2018.

Richard is survived by his daughter, Amy Simon of East Bridgewater, her husband, Michael, and their children, Brady and Abigail—who were the absolute light of his life. Though he was their official grandfather, Richard was “Papa” to many. He had a remarkable way of welcoming others into his heart and home, offering the same love, encouragement, and steady presence to countless people who came to see him as family.

He cherished time with both family and lifelong friends. Richard was a proud member of his beloved card club—friends from his youth who remained by his side for more than sixty years. He loved all types of music and frequently sang in church choirs and at local fundraising events. Community block parties, afternoons at the YMCA pool with friends, and gatherings filled with laughter were among his favorite pastimes.

Richard will be remembered for his generosity, humor, love of music, and the deep affection he shared with everyone fortunate enough to know him. His family and friends will forever carry the warmth of his spirit in their hearts.

Family and friends are invited to visitation on Friday March 27th from 10-12 in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel. Immediately following the visitation there will be a service at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Northville Cemetery, East Bridgewater.
